Toe Ring Sizing Guide: Fitted, Adjustable and Big Toe Rings
Toe ring sizes confuse first-time buyers and first-time sellers alike, because they use the same number scale as finger rings but sit far lower on it. This guide covers how our sizes work and how to fit a customer quickly.
How toe ring sizes work
Toe rings use standard US ring sizes. Our fitted toe rings are made in half sizes from 1 to 6.5, so there is an exact fit for nearly everyone. The middle of the range sells first, which is why our kits are packed on a bell curve.
Fitted vs adjustable
A fitted toe ring is a closed band in one exact size. It does not open or close, it stays put, and it can be worn full time. An adjustable toe ring has a small gap in the band that lets it be adjusted gently to the toe. Adjustable styles come in four size ranges: small (1 to 2.5), medium (3 to 4.5), large (5 to 5.5) and X-large (6 to 7). Adjustable rings are quicker to sell; fitted rings are what customers come back for.
Big toe rings
Big toe rings are our regular styles made in sizes 13 to 18 for the big toe. They are worn more like a statement piece and are a good answer for the customer who says a normal toe ring will not fit them.
How to measure a customer
The fastest method is a ring sizer: slide the sizer over the second toe until it sits comfortably just below the knuckle, and read the size. Sizers come 100 to a pack, so keep a few at the register and mail one with online orders. If you have no sizer, a fitted ring the customer already owns can be measured against a ring mandrel, or you can start with a size 3.5 and go up or down a half size.
Tips that cut exchanges
Feet swell in heat and later in the day, so size on the snug side in the morning and the comfortable side in the afternoon. Wider bands (4mm and up) fit slightly tighter than thin bands in the same size; suggest a half size up on wide styles. Opal and stone-set styles in our kits start at size 1.5.
Thumb rings and anklets
