How to Sell Toe Rings at Fairs, Markets and in Your Shop

We have sold toe rings from a fair booth every summer since 1982, and the same handful of things decide whether a toe ring display makes money. Here is what we tell every new wholesale account.

Stock the sizes people actually wear

Toe rings sell by size, and the demand curve is not flat. The middle sizes move first and the ends of the range move last. That is why our wholesale kits are built on a bell curve of best-selling sizes instead of an even count per size. If you are ordering by the piece, weight your first order toward the middle sizes and reorder the edges as they sell.

Carry fitted and adjustable

Fitted toe rings are closed bands in exact half sizes. They stay put, they can be worn full time, and they are what repeat customers ask for by name. Adjustable toe rings have an open band in four size ranges, so they are faster to sell when there is a line at the booth and no time to size. A good display has both: adjustable for the walk-up sale, fitted for the customer who wants the right one.

Size at the counter

A pack of ring sizers pays for itself in a weekend. Let the customer try the sizer on the second toe, then hand them the fitted ring in that size. For online orders, mail a sizer with the first purchase or offer one as an add-on; it cuts exchanges and turns a guess into a confident purchase.

Show three metals

Most of our styles come in sterling silver, 14K gold filled and rose gold filled. Displaying the same style in all three lets the customer choose a metal rather than deciding whether to buy at all, and two tone styles catch the customer who wears both.

Lead with opal and hammered styles

Plain classic bands are the volume sellers, but opal toe rings and hammered or textured bands are what stop people at the table. Put them front and center and keep the classics in depth behind them.

Add the upsell

Toe rings are an easy add-on to an anklet or thumb ring sale, and vice versa. Our thumb rings are the same designs in sizes 7 to 12, and our anklets come in lengths that also wear as bracelets. Matching sets sell.

Reorder before you run out

Everything in a kit can be reordered by the piece. When a size or style sells down, reorder that size rather than waiting for the whole display to thin out.
